Florida Bible Drillers, speaker head to national stage

ORLANDO (FBC)—Three homeschooled teenagers took top honors in the Florida State Bible Drills and Speakers Tournament April 26 in Orlando. For hundreds of Florida Baptist youth and children, the annual event, hosted by First Baptist Church, was the culmination of months of honing Bible skills at home then exhibiting them at church and associational events.

JACKSONVILLE (FBC) Retired Florida Baptist Convention employee Frank Delrose Jr., died April 24 at the Heartland Health Care Center in Orange Park. He was 85.

(FBC)—The Florida Baptist Convention’s Public Relations Division staff received accolades for professional achievements from the Baptist Communicators Association during the 2008 Wilmer C. Non-reporting churches skew ACP’s lackluster results

JACKSONVILLE (FBC)—With 16 percent of their congregations not reporting, Florida Baptist churches overall recorded a decrease in baptisms, total members, as well as Sunday school attendance and enrollment in 2007, according to statistics compiled in the Annual Church Profile.
