BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH  

Dr. Frank S. Page

Southern Baptist Convention president and denominational ambassador, Frank Page, will give a biblical address during the 2007 Florida Baptist Sate Convention annual meeting in Daytona Beach Nov. 12.

Since his election as president in 2006 and subsequent reelection in 2007, Page has been much sought after by national media, appearing on numerous radio and television programs including ABC 20/20, Larry King Live, CBS Morning News, Scarborough Country, CNN Profiles and NBC Morning News. He is pastor of First Baptist Church of Taylors, S.C.

In January 2007, Page was named one of the Fifty Most Influential Christians in America by the Church Report. He has served pastorates in Texas, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.

Page has traveled the country speaking to various groups, ministries and churches. Internationally, he has spoken in Germany, Norway, Mexico, Israel, Ecuador, Australia, Nigeria, Brazil, Canada and Africa. He has also taught adjunctively for both Southeastern and Southwestern seminaries.

Page has authored several books and many articles. His works include Trouble with the Tulip, a novel that examines the five points of Calvinism, Jonah for Broadman and Holman Press, and contributions to “The New American Commentary” and the “Commentary on Mark” for LifeWay Christian Resources. He also authored a booklet entitled, The Witnessing and Giving Life, and is the lead writer for the” Advanced Continuing Witness Training” material. Page has also written articles for several magazines and theological journals.

Since 2001, Page has been pastor of the over 4,400 member First Baptist Church of Taylors. The church, located in suburban Greenville County, has experienced tremendous growth in the last few years to an average worship attendance exceeding 2,300 and over 1,800 in Sunday school attendance.

Page, born in Robbins, N.C., is married to the former Dayle Gibson of Huntersville, N.C., and is the father of three daughters. Page holds the Ph.D. degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, in the field of Christian ethics focusing on moral, social, and ethical issues. He received the Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Seminary and the Bachelor of Science degree with honors from Gardner-Webb University in North Carolina, with a major in psychology and minors in sociology and Greek.
