JACKSONVILLE (FBC)—Hours before volunteers from Northwood Baptist Church in West Palm Beach are ready to distribute boxes of food; cars line the church’s parking lot.

Every month members of Northwood Baptist Church help nearly 600 needy people through their “Feed the Hungry” ministry.

“If we can help them with food they can spend money on the kids’ clothes, or the rent, or gas, or a car repair,” said Dan Shorter, director of the food ministry at the West Palm Beach church. “This is a way for us to do local missions and reach people we aren’t going to be able to reach any other way.”

“Feed the Hungry” one Florida Baptist ministry reaching the spiritually lost and hurting on their local mission field, will be featured in the summer edition of CROSS ROADS set to air on broadcast or cable stations across Florida June 7-10.

Other stories of Florida Baptist churches and ministries are included in the upcoming broadcast.

A ministry at First Baptist Church Brandon, which in partnership with the local school system, brings to life the message of God’s changing love in a visually, unique way to the deaf children in their community.

Gateway Baptist Church in Fort Myers challenges the contemporary culture of this world with the timeless truth of the kingdom of God building strong missionary families in an effort to reach adults, youth and children.

Even as hurricane season approaches and the fire danger is high because of drought, disaster relief volunteers are ready to extend hands of help and hope. Viewers will hear an update from Fritz Wilson, director of Florida Baptist Disaster Relief and Recovery.
