Five ministers’ wives to speak at annual luncheon in Daytona Beach

DAYTONA BEACH (FBC)—Five Florida Baptist ministers’ wives will speak and the Clyde Maguire Minister’s Wife Award will be presented during the Ministers’ Wives Luncheon Nov. 13 in Daytona Beach.
The award is named for the late Clyde Maguire whose husband, John, served as executive director-treasurer of the Florida Baptist Convention from 1945 to 1967.
The annual gathering will take place following the Tuesday morning session of the Florida Baptist State Convention at Daytona Beach’s Ocean Convention Center.
The theme, “Crowning Qualities of a Minister’s wife,” will focus on Proverbs 12:4a, “An excellent wife is the crown of her husband....”
Featured speakers include Barbara Lucas, First Baptist Church Daytona Beach; Rebecca Lambright, First Baptist Church Palm Coast; Helen Yates, Northside Baptist Church, Apopka; Karen Green, First Baptist Church Brandon; and Hilda Johnson, of Ocala.
Tara Jones from First Baptist Church South Daytona will be the guest musician.
Officers of the Florida Conference of Ministers’ Wives will present the Clyde Maguire Ministers’ Wife Award. This annual award is given to a Florida Baptist minister’s wife who has demonstrated faithful use of the gifts God has given her in support of her husband’s ministry and in her own ministry. Qualifications for nominees include having served as the wife of a minister in Florida for at least 10 years and being active in the Florida Baptist Ministers’ Wives Conference.
