Women's Missions & Ministries/Missions Education Team

The four tasks of this team are to involve women and girls in: learning about missions; engaging in mission action and direct evangelism; supporting missions through giving, praying, and considering missions as a vocation; and learning about the work of the denomination. The team also provides assistance to local churches to foster the development of other women-oriented ministries.

Nominations for the Clyde Merrill Maguire Minister's Wife Award are being sought by officers of the Florida Baptist Ministers' Wives Conference. The annual award will be presented during the ministers' wives annual gathering Nov. 11, held in conjunction with the Florida Baptist State Convention meeting in Lakeland.

The award is given to a Florida Baptist minister's wife who has demonstrated faithful use of her God-given gifts in support of her husband's and her own ministries, said Cindy Bradley, lead strategist of the Convention Women's Missions and Ministries/Missions Education team.

Suggested qualifications for nominees include having served as the wife of a minister in Florida for at least 10 years and being active in the Florida Baptist Ministers' Wives Conference.

The theme for this year's annual luncheon is "Be Dazzle" and features Lisa McKay, author of "You Can Still Wear Cute Shoes and Other Advice from an Unlikely Preacher's Wife." The luncheon is set for noon at Lakeland's First Baptist Church at the Mall.

Nominations for the Clyde Merrill Maguire Award should be sent by October 8 to the Women's Missions and Ministries/Missions Education Team, Florida Baptist Convention, 1230 Hendricks Avenue, Jacksonville, FL  32207; attention: Cindy Bradley.

Tickets are available through Women's Missions and Ministries/Missions Education for $20 each. To reserve a ticket with a credit card, call 800-226-8584, ext. 3141.
