The 2007 state missions DVD contains video stories about the mission and ministry work supported by your gifts to the Maguire State Mission Offering, as well as downloadable study guides, clip art, and other educational resources.
Each video story is self-contained for use during worship services, as a part of a state missions prayer service, or during Sunday School and small group meetings. Your state missions study material also suggests ways to use these stories as part of your state missions study.

NEW CHURCHES — Iglesia Bautista Hispania Deermeadows, Jacksonville introduces your church members to Pastor Jose Vega who explains why new churches are needed in Florida. Your gifts through the Maguire state mission offering help plant new congregations to proclaim the Gospel message in the new and changing communities across the Florida mission field.
NEW CHURCHES — Gateway Baptist Church, Fort Myers chronicles this church’s 16-year history. Beginning with a handful of members meeting in the Royal Palm Association office, this vibrant church of 500+ has a multi-faceted ministry and a strong missionary world-view.
PARTNERSHIP PASTORAL ASSISTANCE takes viewers to Ivydale, West Virginia, where financial assistance from your state mission offering gifts helps enlarge the ministry of this small, financially struggling church.
PARTNERSHIP MISSIONS OVERVIEW explains how the missionary vision of Florida Baptists reaches beyond the borders of our own state to help strengthen the ministry of our international Kingdom partners in Cuba, in Haiti, and along Brazil’s Amazon River basin. This overview also describes the partnerships between Florida Baptists and Southern Baptists in West Virginia, Indiana, and Nevada.
MISSION OUTREACH MINISTRIES — Criminal Justice Ministries takes viewers inside the Marion County Jail to see the spiritual needs of prisoners, their families, and law enforcement personnel. Jail Chaplain Bob Hart explains how state mission offering funds provide Bibles and study material to take the message of life-changing faith in Jesus Christ to these spiritually hurting individuals.
MISSION OUTREACH MINSITRIES — Church-based Health Ministries introduces viewers to the Pensacola Baptist Association’s Health and Hope clinic, one of 14 clinics partially funded by the Maguire State Mission Offering. Every year, nearly half the patients accept Christ as their physical needs are met.
DEVELOPING BELIEVERS — Haitian Youth Camp introduces Brenda Delphin, a member of La Premiere Eglise Baptiste Haitienne in Avon Park, who became a stronger Christian and more active church member through Haitian youth camp.
DEVELOPING BELIEVERS — Children’s Camp for Hearing Impaired tells the story of Pennie Priest, a deaf member of Hopewell Baptist church in Plant City, who at the age of 11 gave her heart to Jesus at a camp for hearing-impaired children.
STUDENT EVANGELISM OUTREACH features Courtney Stewart, a Florida State University graduate, explaining how she heard God’s call to international missions through student summer missions experiences.
PRAY FOR THE FLORIDA MISSION FIELD uses the comments of severalFlorida Baptist pastors and lay leaders to call all Florida Baptists to join hands and hearts in a season of prayer for the Florida mission field.
WE ARE MISSIONARIES reminds all Florida Baptists of God’s call to each one of us to be his witnesses on the mission field that begins right outside our front doors.
Viewing Suggestions
On the DVD, you may select individual stories form the Florida mission field from the menu.
To locate a segment on the VHS video cassette, consult the listing of start times for each segment, then fast-forward to that location on the tape. Be sure to re-set your VCR counter to 00:00 before fast-forwarding.
Before showing the video stories to your church or missions group:
• Preview the DVD or tape so you are familiar with the content;
• Check to be sure you have sufficient prayer guides and offering envelopes on hand (Order at Order Line or call 1-800-226-8584 ext. 3151);
• Pray for the viewers that they will have a desire to minister to the spiritually lost and hurting on the Florida mission field, through personal participation and through their gifts to the Maguire State Mission Offering; and
• Make sure the video equipment is in proper working order.
