Florida-based Volunteer Projects—2008
FLORIDA BAPTIST ASSOCIATION (St. George Island)
Adult mission groups needed for multiple projects between November 2007 and March 2008. Needed to build floating dock to attach to existing deck; build amphitheater; spray water sealer on decks; complete chalking in new structure; installation of kitchen vent hood and fan (inside and out). NORTHWEST COAST BAPTIST ASSOCIATION (Panama City)
Church Youth Groups needed to do Backyard Bible and Kids Clubs in campgrounds and resort areas; Musical presentations at churches, parks, children’s home, and rescue missions; hand’s-on projects that include clean-up, light construction and yard work. Groups are placed by size, skill and ability. Needed June 1 through August 15. Call Phyllis Poland for specific information: 850-785-3115.
GULFSTREAM BAPTIST ASSOCIATION (Pompano Beach)
A Haitian church in the Gulfstream Association recently purchased a commercial building. Remodeling is needed. The church has limited funds. The church membership will be involved with some of the remodeling, but is in need of help from roofers, air condition contractors, landscapers, painters, and wallboard installation. Need help ASAP. OKALOOSA BAPTIST ASSOCIATION (Crestview)
This association needs assistance in two areas: 1) Cleaning up a nature trail and clearing camp sites at the association’s camp; 2) Helping with a community survey in new subdivision where new church is being planted. Contact Gene Strickland for details: 850-682-5434.
PASCO BAPTIST ASSOCIATION (Land ‘O Lakes)
Several churches in this area are looking for volunteer construction help. Trilby Baptist Church has a parsonage that needs some minor carpentry and interior painting. Lakeview Baptist Church needs a stage constructed. Contact person: John Kuespert, 813-909-7499.
TREASURE COAST BAPTIST ASSOCIATION (Vero Beach)
Volunteers needed to help with construction of a church building for Immanuel Baptist Church. Contact person: Roger Ball, pastor, 772-562-3185.
ST. JOHNS RIVER BAPTIST ASSOCIATION (Palatka)
Volunteers needed to help finish construction of a gymnasium. Inside work is the need. Volunteers also needed to do some neighborhood outreach projects. Multiple teams could be used. Contact person: Asa Greear, director of missions, 386-328-5575.
