“One Extra Day to Pray—366"
Because 2008 is a leap year, every Florida Baptist will have an “Extra Day” in 2008.
I-366 is a call for Florida Baptists to join together and pray all 366 days of 2008, with at least one person spending a day in prayer each day of 2008.
How do I get involved?
Simply choose one day (any day or days) in 2008 that you will set aside for prayer—and fasting, if the Lord leads in that as well. Guidelines on “How to Spend a Day in Prayer” and “Guidelines on Prayer and Fasting” will be provided. This effort can be done at home or wherever you want to spend your day.
Does this involve a whole day?
The Day in Prayer can be spent in a number of ways. Generally speaking, plan to set aside at least 3 hours during the day for focused prayer and time with the Lord. Some persons may want to set aside six-to-eight hours. The guidelines will give suggestions as to how to use your time in prayer that day. See a brief 3-6-6 Pattern below.
How do I sign up?
To sign up for your personal “ One Extra Day to Pray —366” (any day in 2008), call 800-226-8584, ext. 3098 or e-mail i366@flbaptist.org.
Your name will be assigned for the day you request. Other Florida Baptists may also choose that day to pray. More than one person can pray each day. To assist in this effort, you can request brochures from us with the information on “How to Spend a Day in Prayer” along with “Guidelines for Prayer and Fasting” (for those the Lord calls to fast during the Day of Prayer). You can also do this as a Small Group or Sunday school class, or as a staff or deacon group. Any group who desires to diligently seek the Lord can join together for a day.
