3—E—Three Essentials in Seeking God
6—X—Six “Xcellent” Attitudes/Actions
6—L—Six Life Connection Points
“SeekingGod366—EXL” focuses on 3 essentials in seeking God, 6 attitudes/actions in daily life, and 6 life connection points.
THREE ESSENTIALS IN SEEKING GOD—Seek Him through surrender, spending time His way, and being sent to serve others His way.
1) Surrender to God Daily. Submit to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
This means you are a God-team believer, following Jesus as the Lord and leader of your life.
You follow, obey, worship and surrender to Him and His agenda.
This is the heart of the first commandment to love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength (Mark 12:28-30). It is also the heart of the Ten Commandments, especially the first three commands—worship and serve the one and only true and living God; have no idols or God-substitutes; and honor His name in all your words, deeds and attitudes.
2) Spend Time with God Daily. Seek Him in worship, prayer, and His word.
This means you are a God-Time believer.
You spend time with Him and use your time for His glory.
This is the heart of loving God with all your heart, soul and mind. To grow in your relationship with Him you must spend time with Him; listen to Him in His Word; and talk/listen to Him in prayer. This is the heartbeat of command four—to honor Him in my 6 days of work and set aside time each week for concentrated focus on Him. This views all of time as holy, set apart to do His will, whether at home, work, school, recreation, vacation, or church.
3) Sent by God Serving Him and Others.
Serve daily through loving words and deeds. Be a Spirit-filled Christian witness, have a Christ-life walk, and do God-honoring work. In all service depend on Him to energize and work through you. This means you are a God-task believer, doing what He wants, where He wants, how He wants, joining Him where He is working has placed you.
This is the heart of loving God with all your strength. You do His will and are active and involved in the “good works” that He has planned for you to do (Ephesians 2:10).
SIX "XCELLENT" ATTITUDES/ACTIONS—Live by the power of His Spirit and seek to excel in these six attitudes/ actions.
