“ChurchesPraying366”

“Churches Praying366” is an effort to encourage Florida Baptist churches to select a specific day in year 2008 to pray throughout the 24-hour period, ensuring that every day in year 2008 will be bathed and covered in prayer by at least one church.

Any Florida Baptist church can participate in the “Church Day to Pray—for 24 Hours” during any one of the 366 days of 2008. This is a time of interceding—connecting with God in prayer; and touching those around you through prayer. The goal is to have at least one church focsed in prayer, interceding each day in 2008.

A general outline of your prayer focus for that day is provided in the Six Connection Points for Prayer given below.

How do we get involved? How do we sign up?

Your congregation may be interested in selecting a specific day of prayer in this effort. Consider a special occasion, an anniversary or just select a random day to participate in the event. Then, tell the Prayer and Spirirtual Awakening Department at the Florida Baptist Convention which day your church has chosen.

What do we do after we haved signed up?

Plan your Day of Prayer. How you cover the 24 hours is open to the creativity and leadership of the Lord in your church. Some will sign up several people praying for an hour or half hour through the day, or others will include certain times of prayer at the church or at a central location or have times of prayer in several homes or businesses throughout the day, etc.

Note: This can be done in conjunction with other churches in a “Wave of Prayer” throughout the community or association. Several churches simply join together to pray for several days, each responsible for at least one 24-hour day. Let us know if your association is planning to do this.
