Team-building conference equips ministry
leaders through hands-on training
Develop
your church staff into an effective and dynamic, high performance
ministry team during an interactive Building Powerful
Ministry Teams conference at Pine Summit Baptist Church,
Pensacola, Sept. 29.
Participants of this one-day, hands-on training will learn
to foster a team environment, build group communication skills
and discover ways to think and work together. Led by, Bob
Bumgarner, director of the Florida Baptist Convention Office
of Leadership Development, topics of discussion include defining
a teams common purpose and how to establish clear roles
within a group.
The conference begins at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 5 p.m.
Cost is $25 and includes a workbook and lunch. Register before
Sept. 23 via the Conventions website at event

Baptist doctrine class offered at Lake Yale
JACKSONVILLE
(FBC)A Baptist doctrine class for church planters and
prospective church planters will be held Sept. 30 through
Oct. 1 at Lake Yale Baptist Conference Center.
The
course taught by John Sullivan, executive director-treasurer
of the Florida Baptist Convention, is designed for Convention
sponsored church planters and will contribute one credit hour
toward the required church planting certificate. A limited
number of spaces is available for prospective church planters
and persons interested in learning more about the Baptist
faith.
This
class will offer an opportunity for pastors and lay persons
learn about the basics of Baptist doctrine under the teaching
of one of the great Baptist statesmen of our time, said
Mark Stephens, director, Theological Education and Distance
Learning.
Offered
in English, Spanish and French, this special training opportunity
provides church planters from various cultural backgrounds
a place to come together and train for a common purpose, Stephens
added.
The
class begins Friday at 1 p.m. and concludes Saturday at noon.
Cost for non church planters is $75. The fee includes course
registration, overnight lodging and three meals. Textbooks
are not included.
